The first conference dedicated to “Capo Pachino” will take place on September 5 and 6, 2025, in Pachino and Portopalo di Capo Passero.
Always the gateway to the Mediterranean, Capo Pachino tells a millennia-old story of encounters, exchanges, and transformations.
Three days of studies, stories, and discoveries to explore a unique territory where nature, humanity, and the sea have intertwined for centuries.
With the contribution of archaeologists, historians, and researchers, the conference – promoted by Italia Nostra “Capo Pachino”, Capo Pachino Archaeological Group, and Superintendency of Syracuse – shines a spotlight on an extraordinary yet fragile heritage, which today more than ever needs to be known and protected.
Landscapes, trade routes, forgotten cults, ancient settlements, and new modern foundations: each session will be a journey into the vibrant heart of South-Eastern Sicily.
